Good morning curly beauties! So I have so much to tell you guys early this fine morning. So last weekend was prom and everything turned out fine. I got my dress, my hair done, make up done and my nails done. My bestfriend Alexis actually went to prom with me ash date lol. We were as cute as can be. We slayed prom without a doubt. I want too happy with the way my hair came out because it tends to get very poofy and big when exposed to warmth and humidity and that's Miami for you. But overall, I looked great. We took an uber to prom and this old man, probably in his late 70's early 80's was our driver so automatically, my bestfriend and I were like great we're gonna miss prom because this poor old man is gonna do 5 in a 45. Boy were we wrong. This old guy turned an hour drive into 25, doing 80 in a 45. So we get to prom and I see all my friends looking beautiful and completely transformed, it was an amazing site. Oops, the bell is about to leave for 2nd period so I'll continue my story in my next post. Talk to you then curly peeps.

Happy Friday curly heads! So just a little update on prom and all that wonderful and stressful stuff. So I'm gonna go shopping tomorrow after work to finally find a dress! Hallelujah! So I'm still kind of nervous about my hair appointment and what not. Speaking of hair, I went to beach last Sunday and it was pretty great. My family and I went to key Biscayne early in the morning for family day. So sadly I got super sunburned:/ but I'm pretty sure the result of that will leave me with a nice tan. The water was freezing but I got in anyways because that salt water was calling my name. If you don't remember, I'm a huge saltwater fanatic. It literally helps everything. I could probably fix my grade in trig! Lol jkjk. But seriously it does wonders. My curls were poppin after I got in that oh so lovely salt water. I'm talking about amazinggggg. Ofcourse I had to take a beach hair selfie, which I'll show you guys on my next post. Jeez if I could marry salt water I would. Fun fact, my dream wedding is to be married on the beach lol. Anyways, I hope you guys have a great day, have fun this weekend and be safe. See ya guys later! Peace!

Hey there curly beauties! It's Dawnmarie here. So prom is coming up and I have nothing! Like prom is literally 10 days away. I have absolutely nothing. I did book my hair appointment today though which I'm kind of nervous about. I want to dye it a nice rich burgundy color and then I want to flat iron it and put cute wand curls in it. I think I'm nervous because I'm one of those few people who are very tender headed and I flinch even when someone comes near me with a comb lol. Sadly many hairstylists aren't very gentle and work pretty fast. So I actually have to take pain relievers to soothe my head and scalp a little bit. I'm also a little worried about the whole straightening my hair thing. The last time I straightened my hair professionally was last August. I put keratin in my hair and it looked great I'm not going to even lie. But it damages my hair tremendously and 40% of my curls are kinda weird looking and contorted. Some peices of my hair are wavy and straight and it makes me so upset ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. I miss my old luscious curls so bad. So yes I'm actually really scared to have my hair done professionaly. Well I'll let you guys know how that goes. Catch you guys later!

hello guys and gals! so its friday and spring break starts for me at 2:20!!!! so life has been a little less stressful than last week when i thought the world was coming to an end. i started my virtual school class and its a pain but hey i gotta do what i gotta do. my hair has still been neglected in the past few weeks cause i just really haven't cared about my appearance to be honest. I'm just trying to get stuff done. i have had braids, pony tails, buns, clip ups you name it. today i actually wore it half up and half down. so prom is coming up and i have yet to find a dress let alone a hairstyle. up-do or big wand curls????? endless possibilities upon endless possibilities.regardless of anything, this requires my hair to be ironed which i dread doing. one, be cause it fries my hair and two, it takes foreverrrr to iron out. every curly root and every coiled end has to be pin straight. i think I'm going to go with the big wand curl. i know what your thinking. why would i straighten my curly hair to just make it curly again. the answer is that i don't really know why lol. i have been known to complicate my life all the time so this is nothing new. well ill keep you guys and gals post on my decisions. HAVE A GREAT SPRING BREAK!!!!!

hello curly beauties. my week has been so hectic and just plain chaotic. I'm still in the process of unpacking everything into my new house and boy is it super tiring. my hair has been just completely neglected in the process and it looks horrendous. you know its bad when your friends start to notice that you haven't been really trying to do your hair. so instead of talking about hair today i think I'm gonna talk about just life in general. more particularly my school life because its almost just as crazy as my hair. so school has been pretty hectic lately. with prom coming in less than 2 months and graduation in 3 months I'm soooooo stressed, I'm literally about to pull my hair out. my virtual school is driving me nuts as well. it seems so never ending but honestly, senior year has gone by so quickly like i feel like i was just starting the year back in august. all the testing is so stressful and there is times where i just feel like crying. overwhelmed is an understatement. is there even a word for worse than overwhelmed. I'm not sure. my mind has been everywhere and it seems like i can't focus to save my life. i need like a weekend getaway in Cabo for Christ's sakes. after spring break, its crunch time! oh and i failed trigonometry lololololololololololololol. so I'm currently taking MCR for credit recovery. well curly peoples ill update you on my life next week. toodles!

whats up curly beauties?! sorry i haven't posted in a while these past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic. i recently just moved to my new house and I'm loving it. unfortunately my hair has been a little neglected in the process. its been pulled up into ponytails, buns, braids you name it. doing hard labor isn't very easy when you've got all this hair on top of your head. its always flying in your face and you end up catching a few strands in your mouth every 5 minutes. so this week i thought i would show you guys some cute but simple up-do's when your curls aren't so "poppin". these hairstyles are so effortless yet gorgeous. i especially love the 3rd style below, its gotta be my most favorite. also, its actually not good to wash curly hair everyday. i know, you would think the opposite. but shampooing your hair too often leads to dry stringy hair. so limit your shampooing to only 2-3 times a week. conditioning however is great because it revitalizes your hair while giving it ultimate shine and softness. the best brand rouse is hands down Garnier Fructise. hopefully these tips will enhance your curls. catch you later beauties.

The Face Behind The Blog
Hey curly beauties its dawnmarie here! as you all know i myself am a curl sue and i haven't really shown you well, myself. Well hello there! this is the face behind the blog. aren't i glowing?! lol jkjk but i really do look super luminous and and the hair is voluminous. i was actually at the beach in this photo and i love going to the beach. not so much and for the sand surf but the salt wage does wonders to my curls. i feel like it defines each and every individual curl and and gives such volume to it. salt water is kinda like coconut oil. that stuff can fix pretty much everything you can imagine. i use this salt water spray for my hair that does justice to my hair and its literally called Not Your Mother's. another tip from me to all you curlys is to always use a wide tooth comb to detangle your hair. the wide tooth comb will define your curls and not rip your hair as a brush would do. you can find a great wide tooth comb pretty much in any convenience store, the cheap ones are just as good. for thick hair, try using the paul mitchell styling sleek comb, trust me the $25 is totally worth it. it will save you the hassle of flimsy combs snapping off in your hair which is just straight up horrendous. well thats all for today my loves. catch you later curly beauties!
